We are happy to share with you how our school garden has grown in the last three years. Starting with one simple classroom made of wood and a kitchen, we have now a concrete house with a classroom and a library, a big roofed lunch area, a small playground, a tree nursery, an area to train farmers and kids in permaculture, some animals, huts where children and tourists can start overnight, and a pond where we grow and harvest fish.
With all these activities we have started to pave our way to becoming more financially independent. Evrard (the manager of the garden) has also been offering tours on foot or by boat that make the school garden experience very enjoyable for kids and adults. We would like to invest in expanding the number of huts so that larger groups can stay overnight. This will allow not only children, who are now visiting in larger groups, but also tourists to enjoy our garden for more than one day. We believe this will financially support many of our activities in the future.
In addition to the huts, we want to raise money to afford an additional security guard and one more cook to take care of bigger groups and guarantee their safety.
To cover those costs, we are trying to reach the goal of collecting 1500 Euros. If you believe in our mission and want to support, please kindly donate to us. This could also make a great Christmas present for your family and/or friends. We will make sure each Euro donated has a great impact!
